Prayer for Peace of His Holiness Pope Francis delivered at the Catholic Chaldean Church of Saint Simon Bar Sabbae, Tbilisi, 30 September 2016
we adore your cross
which frees us from sin, the origin of every division and evil;
we proclaim your resurrection,
which ransoms man from the slavery of failure and death;
we await your coming in glory,
which will bring to fulfilment your kingdom of justice, joy and peace.
by your glorious passion,
conquer the hardness of our hearts, imprisoned by hatred and selfishness;
by the power of your resurrection,
save the victims of injustice and maltreatment from their suffering;
by the fidelity of your coming,
confound the culture of death and make the triumph of life shine forth.
unite to your cross the sufferings of the many innocent victims:
the children, the elderly, and the persecuted Christians;
envelop in paschal light those who are deeply wounded:
abused persons, deprived of freedom and dignity;
let those who live in uncertainty experience the enduring constancy of your kingdom: the exiles, refugees, and those who have lost the joy of living.
cast forth the shadow of your cross over peoples at war;
may they learn the way of reconciliation, dialogue and forgiveness;
let the peoples so wearied by bombing experience the joy of your resurrection:
raise up Iraq and Syria from devastation;
reunite your dispersed children under your gentle kingship:
sustain Christians in the Diaspora and grant them the unity of faith and love.
O Virgin Mary, Queen of peace,
you who stood at the foot of the cross,
obtain from your Son pardon for our sins;
you who never doubted the victory of his resurrection,
sustain our faith and our hope;
you who are enthroned as Queen in glory,
teach us the royal road of service and the glory of love.

Prayer for peace
Lord God of peace, hear our prayer!
We have tried so many times and over so many years to resolve our conflicts by our own powers and by the force of our arms. How many moments of hostility and darkness have we experienced; how much blood has been shed; how many lives have been shattered; how many hopes have been buried… But our efforts have been in vain.
Now, Lord, come to our aid! Grant us peace, teach us peace; guide our steps in the way of peace. Open our eyes and our hearts, and give us the courage to say: “Never again war!”; “With war everything is lost”. Instill in our hearts the courage to take concrete steps to achieve peace.
Lord, God of Abraham, God of the Prophets, God of Love, you created us and you call us to live as brothers and sisters. Give us the strength daily to be instruments of peace; enable us to see everyone who crosses our path as our brother or sister. Make us sensitive to the plea of our citizens who entreat us to turn our weapons of war into implements of peace, our trepidation into confident trust, and our quarreling into forgiveness.
Keep alive within us the flame of hope, so that with patience and perseverance we may opt for dialogue and reconciliation. In this way may peace triumph at last, and may the words “division”, “hatred” and “war” be banished from the heart of every man and woman. Lord, defuse the violence of our tongues and our hands. Renew our hearts and minds, so that the word which always brings us together will be “brother”, and our way of life will always be that of Peace! Amen. (Pope Francis)
"Serve the blind..." This word of Mother Pauline has touched the hearts of Sr. María Adriana and Sr. Sofía. Generously they gave their Yes to the missionary ministry in the Philippines. On September 9 they will begin their service among the blind and poor who need help. "It is a great grace that God should permit us to assist in the spread of his Kingdom." (Mother Pauline, 1877)
Let us accompany our Sisters in their service!
The Canonization of Mother Teresa, the "Mother of the Poor", is an event, that touches the world. Rome is ready for 100000 pilgrims. But usually more will come. The Feast of Mother Teresa is on September 5.
On August 21, 1849 Mother Pauline and her three companions were invested in the Busdorf Church in Paderborn. That was the beginning of the Congregation of the Sisters of Christian Charity. The photos show the memorial in the Busdorf Church in remembrance of this important day.
Let us imitate the meekness of Jesus, his humility, his love, his mildness, his zeal for souls and God’s honor, his spirit of penance. 1855
The cross is the real test of faith, the true foundation and source of hope, the perfect refinement of love, in a word, the way to heaven. 1859
It is precisely the cross which Jesus offers us which we ought to embrace with great willingness and not choose our own crosses. 1843
We must pray for love of the cross. Then frequently we shall see things in an entirely different light. 1855
With a joyful heart endeavor to accept little daily annoyances out if love for God, swallowing them like water. Try it. (1877
In all suffering God sends us he has his wise designs, and to those who love him everything turns out for the best. 1878
